Occupational Therapy vs Physical Therapy

A common question we are asked as occupational therapists is what is the difference between occupational therapy and physical therapy? Many presume they are the same. Many understand physical therapy and have no idea about occupational therapy.

One of the best ways to highlight the differences is with a client or patient as an example. The video below outlines this with a physical therapist and occupational therapist who work with the same child, working towards similar goals in different ways.

I hope the video has helped you to understand some of the difference between these important professions as they relate to working with children. If you have any question, please post it in the comments below and I will be happy to respond.

Have a blessed day
