Alleviating Back Pain - 1

Some years ago, I was involved in research to set up a Back Rehabilitation Clinic at the hospital in which I was working at the time. Yes, Occupational Therapy does have a role to play in assisting those suffering from Back Pain.

Much of the work that we, as Occupational Therapists do in this area relates to education regarding Principles of Back Protection, Ergonimics including how you are sleeping and appropriate positioning / seating and more.

For anyone who reads this blog you might have become aware that Occupational Therapy is very practical and the service or intervention we provide is therefore very practical in nature.

Occupational Therapists also work closely within the medical team.

Over a few posts, we hope to share some thoughts, ideas and information that is important to those experiencing back pain in order to help to reduce your pain and improve your function and quality of life.

The video below is the first of several we hope to share that provides some useful information.

We hope you enjoyed and benefited from the post and video. If you have specific questions related to backs, backcare, principles of back protection or Occupational Therapy, please do be in touch, so that we can cater to your specific needs as far as possible.
