Identifying your Weaknesses in order to Work from Home

Time for the next step in our stock take in preparation for working from home. We have already looked at our strengths, interests and who you would like to work with. Our next step is to write for yourself a list of the things that are holding you back, otherwise known as your weaknesses. This can be something physical such as low endurance, dizzy spells when sitting up or standing, difficulty breathing, need to eat or rest at certain intervals. It could be emotional or psychological. Difficulty concentrating, difficulty deciding what to do, low self-esteem, fear, lack of support. It could be lack of funds or lack of resources.

There are many factors that can be a stumbling block, a barrier or a challenge. There are no right or wrong answers, it is merely a case of knowing yourself well. If your reason to work from home is due to your health, there are some resources, assistive devices and options to assist. If the difficulty is lack of knowledge then identifying the area you have difficulty in will help you to develop a plan of what you need to learn in order to be successful. If your difficulty is lack of self-esteem, lack of self-confidence, fear etc, then being able to identify this will help you to find the best solution to enable you to be successful.

If your limitation is time, then write that down too. Be realistic. If you have a need to work from home and only have 1-2 hours that you can have available either to work online or to be involved in work, that information helps you to schedule your day.

The points above are not all the factors or areas of weakness. Spend a little time sitting quietly and thinking of what your situation is. What are your weaknesses?

When you have that information written down in your journal, on your computer, on your blog, wherever you are keeping your record then you will be ready to proceed to the next step.

I hope you have found this post beneficial. Do you have questions related to identifying your weaknesses? Do you have questions related to working from home? Do post your question below and I will do my best to answer either in the comments or a future blog post.

Have a very special day and enjoy your preparations towards working from home.
